Our frameworks

Our work is based on three international frameworks: the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), the Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children (2009) and the Sustainable Development Goals (2015–2030).

A family for every child

We believe the best place for a child to grow up is a stable and loving family.

Alternative care: an SOS family to grow up in a family-like environment.
Family strengthening: preventing separation by supporting parents and communities.
Advocacy and partnerships for quality care.
Emergency response: preventing family separation and reuniting separated children.
